Today, Apple has released the second beta of its upcoming iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, and macOS Tahoe 26.1 to developers for testing purposes and bug curation. Developers can install the latest beta through the Settings app on their compatible devices. Take note that you are required to connect your Apple ID to your Developer Account to receive the update over the air.
Developers can now install iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, and macOS Tahoe 26.1 beta 2 with performance enhancements and stability fixes
As mentioned, registered developers can download the latest iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 beta 2 on their iPhones and iPads through the stock Settings app. Simply launch the app and navigate to General > Software Update > Beta Updates > and follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the latest beta builds. You can connect your Apple ID to the Developer Account from the Apple Developer Center.
Other than iOS 26.1, Apple has also seeded beta 2 of macOS Tahoe 26.1 to developers, which can be downloaded through the Software Update mechanism in System Settings. Again, be sure to link your Apple ID to your Developer Account to receive the update over the air. If you fail to do so, the update will not appear in the Settings app.
iOS 26.1 and the rest of the updates are quite significant, offering new front-facing features and changes. Since the company has just launched major updates for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, you may experience a handful of bugs and issues. This means that iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, and macOS 26.1 will introduce bug fixes and performance enhancements to provide a more stable user experience.
Apple will potentially release the iOS 26.1 update for the iPhone by the end of this month, possibly on October 27, as per speculation. We will let you know when the final updates arrive, so do stick around and share your Liquid Glass experience with us in the comments.
