UNDATED (WKRC) – Two types of pasta salad bowls sold at stores across the nation, including Kroger, have been recalled.
CBS News reported that the Food & Drug Administration announced on Saturday that Kroger Company voluntarily recalled “Basil Pesto Bowtie Salad” and “Smoked Mozzarella Penne Salad” because the pasta was possibly contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections.
The recalled products were sold across 1,860 Kroger Family of Stores, including Baker’s, City Market, Dillons, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, Gerbes, King Soopers, Payless, Ralphs, and Smith’s, in states such as Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington and West Virginia.
Both recalled salads were sold from Aug. 29 through Oct. 2, according to the FDA.
Customers who purchased the recalled products are advised not to consume them and to return them for a refund.
