It’s suggested the Rockstar open world game will be enhanced for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Since the developer likes to share news on its own terms, rather than during livestreams, there’s still a chance the ports could release this year. For example, the PS4 version of Red Dead Redemption was announced on 7th August 2023 in social media posts, and then it launched just 10 days later. GTA 6 trailers also drop out of nowhere.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has been playable on PS5 this entire time via backwards compatibility, but the PS4 version is restricted to 30 frames-per-second, and runs at a lower resolution than the Xbox One version when played on an Xbox Series X.
Given the track record NateTheHate has developed over the years, there’s little reason to doubt his claims. It’s possible for Rockstar to turn around a Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS5 announcement and full release within a matter of days, which would make the wait for GTA 6 a little easier.
Would you go back to Red Dead Redemption 2 if it was upgraded for PS5? Let us know in the comments below.
