Taylor Swift dropped her 12th studio album just a few days before Travis Kelce’s 36th birthday. But of course, she did save one thing to be released on the actual day that also serves as somewhat of a tribute to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
Swift gave fans a look at her music video for “The Fate of Ophelia” in theaters during “The Life of a Showgirl” movie, that was only showing from Oct. 3-5. However, the video is set to officially drop on YouTube at 7 p.m. on Oct. 5.
And it’s perfect considering she makes mentions of her love story with Kelce during the song, and even includes some special tributes to him in the actual video. That included her catching a football and even walking past a door with No. 87 on it.

In the song, she talks about how Kelce saved her from a tragic ending, such as Ophelia’s in William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Specifically, Swift detailed how “the hookis someone comes into your life and rescues you from the fate of being driven mad by love,” during an appearance on U.K. radio show Heart Breakfast on Oct. 3.
Swift and Kelce aren’t able to be together for his birthday as the tight end is currently in Jacksonville ahead of the Chiefs’ Monday Night matchup against the Jaguars.
Which lyrics are suspected to be about Travis Kelce?
Swift opens the song by singing, “I heard you calling on the megaphone,” which many believed to be a reference to Kelce using his New Heights podcast to get her attention after he was unable to meet her during her Eras Tour show at Arrowhead Stadium in 2023.
