Sabres at Penguins | How to watch, lineup notes, and storylines

Tonight’s roster (updated 12:30 p.m.)

Radim Mrtka was originally included in the game roster but will be out due to an illness. Zach Metsa has been recalled and will play in Mrtka’s place.

Rasmus Dahlin is healthy but will get the day off. Michael Kesselring, Owen Power, and Mattias Samuelsson all remain out due to injuries, though Power and Samuelsson are both on track to potentially play in next week’s regular-season opener.

In their absence, three young defensemen – Metsa, Ryan Johnson, and Vsevolod Komarov – will get the chance to play against the Penguins’ full NHL lineup.

Alex Lyon will get the start in net with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen considered week to week due to lower-body injury. Ruff said the plan is for Lyon to play at least two periods.

Here’s the full roster for tonight’s game:

Defensemen: Jacob Bryson, Bowen Byram, Ryan Johnson, Vsevolod Komarov, Zach Metsa, Conor Timmins
