PFL Dubai live updates: Usman Nurmagomedov vs. Paul Hughes 2 results, round-by-round analysis, highlights

Uncrowned has PFL Dubai results, live round-by-round updates, highlights and start time for the Usman Nurmagomedov vs. Paul Hughes 2 fight card on Friday at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, UAE. Undefeated lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov aims to once again spoil Paul Hughes’ title hopes in one of 2025’s most anticipated rematches.

Nurmagomedov (19-0, 1 NC) has long been touted as one of the sport’s future staples among the 155-pound elite. After joining Bellator in April 2021 with a perfect 12-0 record, Nurmagomedov went on to smash his way to the Bellator lightweight championship and defend it twice before he becoming the PFL champion with his majority decision win over Hughes in January. The bout was the most competitive of Nurmagomedov’s career thus far and is widely considered to be a contender for 2025’s Fight of the Year.

Hughes (13-2) had been nearly flawless until his run-in with Nurmagomedov. A lone loss to Jordan Vucenic by split decision in 2020 preceded his Nurmagomedov clash, but Ireland’s “Big News” rebounded swiftly with a seven-fight win streak. To earn his first title shot, Hughes stunned many with an impressive win over former Bellator champion AJ McKee in his PFL debut. Hughes has fought once since the Nurmagomedov instant classic, finishing Bruno Miranda with strikes in just 42 seconds this past May.

In the co-main event, the light heavyweight division spotlights another title fight rematch when PFL champion Corey Anderson takes on Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov. The pair first collided in April 2021, with Anderson coming out victorious via third-round stoppage. Yagshimuradov is 7-1 since and has won seven straight.
