COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — An Uber driver was attacked around midnight on Lancaster Lane, near Schrock Road in North Columbus, according to Columbus police.
CPD reported the driver claimed he was beaten and stabbed near the Kilborough Apartments.
That Uber driver was transported to Riverside Hospital in critical condition.
There are no suspects in the case, police said.
Uber drivers can take several steps to protect themselves while on the job, including knowing their surroundings and avoiding areas known for crime or violence, using in-app safety features that connect drivers to 911 and share location details in real time, and trust their instincts.
For rideshare passengers, CPD said it is better to cancel the ride and stay safe than to take unnecessary risks.
