Dog Who Hates to See Her Loved Ones in Pain Is So Upset When Dad Burps the Baby

A dog isn’t just your best friend, they’re your biggest protector too. Just take the way that one adorable pup was watching over her favorite little human so carefully. The dog was so concerned when her dad started burping the little baby. Was he hurting the poor thing? The dog was scared! She can’t take it when someone cries. And her concern has people online totally smitten.

Caoimhe has a tender heart when it comes to her humans. She doesn’t like to see them in pain. Crying specifically really tears her up inside. Which is why she was upset when she heard the tiny human getting fussy. Have no fear, little one! Caoimhe is there for you.

It’s like the dog was the baby’s personal bodyguard. She wasn’t letting dad get away with anything, that’s for sure. The dog was keeping a watchful eye over the infant as her father patted her back to get her to burp. But we guess the man was using a little too much force for the dog’s liking, because she put her paw up to get him to stop.

“I’m not hurting her,” the man explained. “I’m trying to make her burp, Magoo,” he added.

Something tells us that the dog wasn’t convinced! Commenters were positively tickled by the overprotective pooch.

“Dad out here on supervised visits only,” joked one commenter.

“That poor dog is about to call Paw Patrol on y’all,” someone else teased.

“Dog is probably like ‘that’s enough, no more slaps,’” a third commenter wrote.

“You know what, hit on my baby one more time, and we will have a problem buddy,” added another commenter, as if speaking for the pup.

Why Do Dogs Become Overprotective?

It’s not just Caoimhe who gets a little touchy around her favorite baby. Many dogs become overprotective of their humans. There are  a few different reasons why this happens, one of which is that overprotective dogs can sometimes be jealous. If your dog received a lot of attention when they were young, they might feel jealous when another dog (or human) is getting the attention that they want.

So the next time your pup is a little territorial, just keep in mind they might be feeling jealous.
