Kate Gosselin is breaking her silence about what led to her recent hospitalization.
On September 30, the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star, 50, went live on TikTok from her hospital bed to reveal the cause to her followers. “Meika, my puppy, ran into me full-speed ahead,” Gosselin shared, “and I ended up with a tibial plateau fracture and surgery with plates and pins in my leg.”
In another post, she revealed that the procedure ranks as the “top 3 most painful” surgeries she’s ever had, requiring “five pain meds.”

Adding to her trauma, she said in the TikTok Live that a doctor described the knee injury as “a life altering event.”
Earlier that day, Gosselin’s fans were abuzz after she posted a photo of her arm hooked up to an IV. “Please pray for me tonight and tomorrow … I will be fine, but I’m scared …”
Thankfully, Gosselin has a new love to lean on. On September 24, Page Six reported that the reality star is dating her former bodyguard Steve Neild.
“There’s no doubt that Kate is crazy about him,” a source told the outlet, adding that “things are serious,” and “they have discussed wedding plans and moving on to that next stage.”
