The Seattle Mariners now know the two possibilities of when their first game of the 2025 playoffs will start, and exactly when the second game of their upcoming American League Division Series will be after MLB announced the broadcast schedule for this weekend’s postseason action on Wednesday morning.
Three reasons the Mariners are built for a deep October run this time
The Mariners will play Game 1 of their ALDS against the winner of the AL Wild Card Series between the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers at one of two times Saturday: either 1:08 p.m. if the Boston Red Sox win their ALWCS against the New York Yankees, or 5:38 p.m. if the Yankees win that series.
Seattle will play Game 2 at 5:03 p.m. Sunday regardless of which teams advance to the divisional round.
Both Game 1 and Game 2 of the Mariners’ ALDS will be at Seattle’s T-Mobile Park.
If the Red Sox advance to the ALDS, the TV broadcast of Game 1 of the Mariners’ series will be on FS1. If the Yankees do, the Mariners’ Game 1 will air on FOX.
The Mariners’ Game 2 will be on FS1.
With the Mariners’ game Sunday set for an evening start, it should not impact the Seattle Seahawks’ scheduled 1:05 p.m. game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers across the street at Lumen Field.
The Tigers and Red Sox each lead their ALWCS 1-0 after wins Tuesday and can clinch victory in the best-of-three series if they win again Wednesday.
The AL West champion Mariners are the No. 2 seed in the American League after finishing 90-62 in the regular season to earn a bye straight to the divisional round.
Radio coverage of all Mariners games in the playoffs will be available on the Seattle Sports app beginning with extended pregame coverage at least three hours before first pitch. Saturday’s game will be on Seattle Sports 710 AM on terrestrial radio, while Sunday’s game will be on Seattle Red 770 AM.
