KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Honey, grab your pearls and your feather boas and get ready to celebrate Taylor Swift’s 12th Studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
“The Life of a Showgirl” will be available to stream on all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. Kansas Citians will be able to access the album at 11 p.m. Thursday.

O’Dowd’s Gastrobar on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City will host a “TS12 Release Party” on Thursday, Oct. 2, ahead of the new album’s release. There will be a cover artist, dancing, a countdown to the album drop, and a listening party starting at 11 p.m.

Howl at the Moon Kansas City will host a “Taylor Swift Takeover” on Thursday, Oct. 2, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., in honor of “The Life of a Showgirl.” A live band will perform a variety of Taylor Swift songs.
They will also have themed drinks, including the “That’s Showbiz” bucket and “TS12” shots.

This is an event put on by Swift herself at theaters across the country, including the theater at Union Station in Kansas City. The show will premiere “The Fate of Ophelia” video, show behind-the-scenes, lyric videos and have Swift’s commentary.
The Upscale Oven
The Upscale Oven, a bakery located in the Kansas City River Market, is hosting a “The Life of a Showgirl” Taylor Swift-themed cookie decorating class. The class is on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. The class is $55 per person.
Dolce Bakery
Dolce Bakery created an exclusive collection of themed treats to celebrate the release of Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album. Dolce Bakery offered a variety of special-edition items in its Swiftie collection related to “The Life of a Showgirl,” such as cakes, cookies and lemonades.
Craft Putt
Craft Putt in Overland Park is hosting a special Taylor Swift–themed trivia night on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. in celebration of “The Life of a Showgirl.” The event is free to play and open to all ages, but reservations are recommended, as a large crowd is expected.
