Pixel Buds Pro 2 adds ‘Fully charged’ alert, stays in Battery widget

With the latest update, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 now broadcasts its battery life to all your devices, while there’s now a “Fully charged” notification.

That 100% alert is pretty straightforward and matches the Pixel Watch, with Google briefly mentioning it last month.

What’s new today is how Pixel Buds Pro 2 appears to broadcast the battery level for all three components: Left bud, Right bud, and Case.

As such, the battery level always appears in the Pixel Battery widget even when the earbuds + case are not actively connected to your phone over Bluetooth. It conveniently lets you see if your case has enough charge without having to first open the lid.

Additionally, if you have paired the Buds to multiple Pixel devices, like another phone or Tablet, the battery life will appear on all devices. We’ve also seen the Fully charged notification appear on such a secondary device.

This is happening once all three components are running firmware version 4.467. If this is indeed an intended behavior, it matches what Apple does with AirPods, iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Google did not mention this new feature in its release notes last week.

Meanwhile, we’re seeing the new head gestures immediately available after updating along with Adaptive Audio. There are no separate settings for Loud Noise Protection or improved voice prioritization when using Gemini Live.
