Josh Hartnett hospitalized after car crash with police vehicle while in Canada filming Netflix series

Josh Hartnett is back to work after being hospitalized due to a car crash last week in Canada, his representatives said on Tuesday.

Just before 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, an SUV collided with a patrol vehicle in St. Johns, a city in Newfoundland, according to a press release issued by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

“There was significant damage to both of the vehicles involved,” the release said. “The 59-year-old male driver and the 47-year-old male passenger of the SUV were sent to hospital with what is believed to be minor injuries.”

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported on Monday that Hartnett, 47, was the male passenger in the SUV collision which is now under active investigation.

The “Oppenheimer” and “Trap” star was released from the hospital and is doing fine, his publicist confirmed to NBC News, saying he’s “back to work.”

In August, Netflix announced that Hartnett was starring in a new six-episode limited series, about a sea creature terrorizing a small town, being filmed in Newfoundland.

Alongside Hartnett are cast members including “Stranger Things” star Charlie Heaton and “Lockwood & Co.” actor Ruby Stokes. Netflix has not yet announced when the series will be available for streaming.
