Lola Young Cancels All Upcoming Events to ‘Work on Myself’

Lola Young has announced she is stepping away from performing to focus on her health. This comes after British singer-songwriter collapsed onstage during her performance at the All Things Go festival in New York over the weekend.

“I’m going away for a while,” Young wrote in a short paragraph posted to her Instagram page. “It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future. Thank you for all the love and support. I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know.”

Young added that fans who had purchased tickets to her live shows would “obviously” be entitled to a full refund. “I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger,” she concluded.

Young was scheduled to perform at a string of music festivals and shows with dates scheduled into the next year. The cancelled shows include her North American “Messy” headlining tour, a 17-date trek that was scheduled to begin Nov. 1 in Toronto, and conclude on Dec. 6 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

Prior to the incident at All Thing Go, Young had canceled a performance in New Jersey for mental-health reasons, which she addressed during her set on Saturday, saying she’d “had a tricky couple of days.”

“Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue,” she added. “But you know what? Today I woke up and I made the decision to come here, and I wanted to be cool. Sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade.”
