macOS 26.0.1 fixes installation bug impacting Mac Studio with M3 Ultra

macOS Tahoe was released to all users exactly two weeks ago.

But a strange bug prevented some Mac Studio owners from being able to install the update.

Fortunately, that issue has been resolved in the newly released macOS 26.0.1 update.

Here are Apple’s official release notes:

This update provides important bug fixes, security updates, and resolves an issue that prevented some users from upgrading to macOS Tahoe on Mac Studio (M3 Ultra, 2025).

If you have an M3 Ultra Mac Studio and previously were unable to install macOS Tahoe, that should no longer be a problem for you.

Apple didn’t specifically identify which other bug fixes today’s update provides. We’ll keep you posted on any noteworthy discoveries in the new software.

Following the release of a major software update like macOS Tahoe, it’s fairly common for a variety of bugs to be included that couldn’t be addressed during the beta cycle. Hopefully, though, today’s 26.0.1 release could make macOS Tahoe more stable and performant than it was before.

In addition to bug fix updates for iOS and macOS, Apple also released minor new updates for tvOS, visionOS, watchOS, and HomePod software.
