The Putman family, of the TLC reality show “Meet the Putmans,” is speaking out about a tragic accident.
A statement posted to Instagram on Saturday, Sept. 27, revealed that “Papa” Bill Putman, “Neenee” Barb Putman, and their daughter-in-law Megan recently died in “a tragic car accident.” Five more family members — Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia — were injured in the crash.
“Please keep Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia in your prayers as they remain in the hospital,” the statement read. “We are asking for complete healing and strength for each of them.”
The family shared an update on Sunday, Sept. 28, noting that Noah is “still sedated” but “responding to us with movement,” while the pressure on Gia’s brain had “gone down significantly” following a craniotomy. The post included photos of Noah and Gia in the hospital.
“Meet the Putmans” aired on TLC for one season in 2017. The reality TV series followed Barb and Bill, their four children, and their 15 grandchildren, all of whom live under one roof.

“We’re reincarnating the old family, where everybody took care of everybody,” Bill said on the show.
According to the family’s official Instagram account, their family unit had expanded to 10 adults and 20 kids prior to the tragic car accident.

Blake, who was injured and lost his wife, Megan, in the crash, is the father of Noah, Lulu, Alena, and Gia, all of whom were also injured. Blake and Megan also share daughter Mercy.

While their TLC reality show was short-lived, the Putman family went on to document their life via their YouTube channel, Growing Up Putman. Their most recent video, which was uploaded eight months ago, was a religious sermon given by Bill and Barb’s son Brandon.
“Meet the Putmans” is available to stream on Apple TV+.
