Skylar Thompson, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ No. 3 quarterback who is on injured reserve, reportedly was jumped and robbed Friday night during the team’s trip to Dublin.
Although he is on injured reserve, Thompson accompanied the team overseas for its game Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings at Croke Park.
Thompson is with the team and sustained minor injuries, reported NFL Network and ESPN.
“We are aware of a situation involving Skylar Thompson on Friday night in Dublin,” Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten said in a statement. “We will have no further comment at this time as we are working with NFL security to gather more information regarding the incident.”
Thompson sustained a hamstring injury in practice in days leading up to the season opener against the New York Jets. He served as the No. 3 quarterback for that game but has spent the past three, including Sunday’s game in Ireland, on injured reserve.
Thompson took advantage of an injury to rookie sixth-round pick Will Howard and made the roster with a strong performance in the preseason.
