There are between 700 and 800 people currently working on the wildly ambitious anime open world Ananta.
The number won’t come as a huge surprise to anyone who’s seen the latest footage of the title, which blends the best of several different games, including Marvel’s Spider-Man, GTA 5, and Batman: Arkham Asylum.
It’s still an absolutely staggering figure, though, and a reminder of just how many people is required to bring a title like this to life.
The number was revealed as part of a Denfaminicogamer interview with Lead Producer Ashley Qi, who we also chatted to earlier in the week.
Elsewhere in the discussion, he hinted that the developer’s plan is to add new cities and countries as part of its post-release updates, so expect a lot more content even after the title’s eventually released.
Remember, this title won’t be monetised through character gachas, but will flog in-game cosmetics instead.
We went hands-on with the release at the Tokyo Game Show earlier this week, confirming once and for all that this is a playable product. You can read our impressions through here.
