UFC Perth weigh-ins: Main event official, one fight cancelled, and another fighter misses weight

Carlos Ulberg vs. Dominick Reyes is official for UFC Perth, but another fight is off the card.

This Saturday, UFC Perth goes down in Australia, headlined by a five-round fight between the two surging light heavyweights, and on Friday evening, both men successfully made weight for their bout.

Reyes was the first to step on the scale, making use of the one-pound allowance and coming in at 206 pounds. A few minutes later, Ulberg weighed in, coming in at championship weight of 205 pounds.

But while the main event is official, not everything was perfect elsewhere, with one fighter missing weight, and another fight falling off the card entirely.

Justin Tafa, who was scheduled to face Louie Sutherland in a main card heavyweight bout, was removed from the event during weigh-ins due to illness, per the UFC. Tafa did not attempt to make weight, though his opponent did, with Sutherland tipping the scales at 259 pounds. This is the second bout to fall of UFC Perth as earlier this week, Oban Elliott withdrew from a planned fight with Jonathan Micallef due to illness.

Another main card fight also suffered a setback, with Ramon Taveras coming in one pound over the 146-pound featherweight limit for his featured fight against Jack Jenkins.
