As was announced earlier in the month, you’re able to get a Shiny Koraidon or Shiny Miraidon for Pokémon Scarlet/Violet for the first time by visiting GameStop in the United States, EB Games in Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, and various retailers in Japan. The retailer is dishing out special code cards between September 26, 2025, and October 15, 2025, but apparently some have already started.
The code will let you receive Shiny Koraidon in Pokémon Violet or Shiny Miraidon in Pokémon Scarlet, but only one of these two Pokémon can be received per code. Shiny Koraidon and Shiny Miraidon are cool enough, but don’t forget that these two powerful Pokémon are often used in both competitive battles and Tera Raid Battles, so you won’t want to miss adding them to your team.
Early reports from players show the distribution being a bit of a mess. As stated, the distribution wasn’t supposed to go live until Sept. 26th, but some locations decided Sept. 25th was close enough. We’re also hearing that some players are getting multiple code cards just by asking nicely, while others have already completely run out of their allotment. Then, in the least surprising bit of news, eBay and other auction sites have already been littered with the code cards. Those extra hard up for the code cards are apparently willing to pay $30-$40 for those listings.
Hopefully if you set out to try and get a code card tomorrow, your local GameStop still has some of them in stock. With the way things are playing out, you might want to give your GameStop a call before heading over!
