Ohio State Favored to Beat Washington By 7.5 Points As Spread Continues to Shrink for the Big Ten Matchup

With Ohio State’s first road test fast approaching, oddsmakers see momentum slowly building in Washington’s favor.

Ohio State opened as a 13.5-point favorite over Washington, but the line has steadily moved in the Huskies’ direction, with the Buckeyes now favored by 7.5 points for Saturday’s Big Ten clash. The spread has dropped in stages over the past two weeks, sliding to -11.5 on Thursday, -9.5 on Sunday and -8.5 on Monday before reaching its current line.

Saturday marks Ohio State’s first road test and first Big Ten matchup of the 2025 season. Washington, winners of 22 straight games inside Husky Stadium, will rely on its home-field advantage and one of the nation’s top offenses to challenge the Buckeyes. Quarterback Demond Williams Jr., running back Jonah Coleman and wide receiver Denzel Boston have powered the Huskies to more than 55 points per game in wins over Colorado State, UC Davis and Washington State.

Ohio State is 2-1 against the spread this season. The Buckeyes opened against Texas as either a slight favorite or underdog, depending on the sportsbook, but covered comfortably in a 14-7 win. They also covered a record-setting 55-point spread in a 70-0 rout of Grambling State, but came up short of a 28.5-point line in a 37-9 victory over Ohio.

Kickoff for Saturday’s matchup is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
