Taylor Swift Announces ‘The Crowd Is Your King’ Edition of ‘The Life of a Showgirl’

You can never have enough Taylor Swift vinyl.

On Wednesday, Sept. 24, the Grammy winner announced a special new The Crowd Is Your King edition of her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl coming exclusively to Target on colored vinyl.

Swift shared the news on Instagram with the special edition’s new cover and wrote in the caption, “A showgirl knows to save some of her best tricks for the grand finale…”

“The Life of a Showgirl: The Crowd is Your King Edition on Summertime Spritz Pink Shimmer Vinyl is available to pre-order now exclusively at @target while supplies last,” continued the “Karma” artist.

According to a Target release, the new version costs $34.99 and features an “opaque pink and pale yellow pearlescent vinyl with gold shimmer” as well as a 24″x36″ double-sided poster of Swift, a “collectible custom gatefold jacket,” plus a “double-sided foldout panel” featuring photos and a poem written by Swift as well as “collectible album sleeves” with “never-before-seen photos and album lyrics.”

The Life of a Showgirl comes out Friday, Oct. 3. Target will open nearly 500 stores in the United States at midnight for people to buy the album, with more information available at the company’s website.

Prior to the Crowd Is Your King edition, she announced several vinyl variants, including the Shiny Bug, the Tiny Bubbles in Champagne and Baby, That’s Show Business versions.

Last week, Swift announced “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” coming to movie theaters in celebration of the album.

“I hereby invite you to a *dazzling* soirée, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl: Oct 3 – Oct 5 only in cinemas!” she began an Instagram post.

Swift continued, “You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album The Life of a Showgirl ❤️‍🔥”

“Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged 💃,” she quipped.

According to Swift, showtimes vary and tickets are limited and available at releasepartyofashowgirl.com.

The theatrical event will play from Oct. 3 to Oct. 5 throughout all 540 AMC Theatres locations, according to the company. It’ll also be available at non-AMC locations in North America, including Cinemark and Regal theaters.

Screenings will kick off across time zones at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT on Oct. 3.
