JerryRigEverything has put Apple’s new iPhone Air through his signature durability test, confirming the phone holds up under scratches, burns, and bends.
Ahead of the video, there had been speculation about whether the slim design of the iPhone Air would make it prone to bending, similar to concerns seen with the iPhone 6 back in 2014. Many users across the internet were eagerly waiting for the YouTuber’s test.
He finally uploaded his video on September 19, 2025, showing the latest iPhone model passing the standard checks that have become a staple of his channel. The screen and frame withstood his scratch tests, while the phone’s structure resisted initial bending attempts.
JerryRigEverything broke the phone on purpose
After completing the durability run, JerryRigEverything took the iPhone Air to his shop to see how much force it would take to deliberately break it. Using equipment to apply pressure, he found the device bent and snapped at 216 pounds of force.
“Unless you have buns of steel, I imagine your pants pockets would rip off before any damage happens to the new iPhone Air,” he said after finally breaking the device.
The iPhone Air, Apple’s thinnest flagship yet, was announced earlier this month as part of the company’s new lineup.
Although the device made it through JerryRigEverything’s durability test, others are still weary about the device. Marques ‘MKBHD’ Brownlee, for example, praised its build but remains worried about battery life in the ultra-thin device.
