In his new book, Matthew McConaughey revealed how changing his bedroom furniture saved his marriage with Camilla Alves. He stated, “The best thing you can / do for your / marriage.” “One way to surely / get ahead, / is get rid of that / king-size mattress, / and sleep in a / queen-size bed,” McConaughey wrote. Additionally, the 55-year-old elaborated on these thoughts in detail in his interview with Fox News Digital. “We have kids and we go to our friend’s house and he has one of these double king-size beds put together and all the kids sleep in the bed,” shared the star.
The “Interstellar” actor explained, “wife’s on one side with her side table, and the husband’s on the other side.” McConaughey added, “it’s great when you got all three kids.” However, “all of a sudden the kids get too big. They’re out of the bed.” “I wake up one morning … I’m looking over there and Camilla’s like a football field away man,” he continued. McConaughey also shared, “Then you go to bed at night, like you want to snuggle up and …’Well, we’ve got to cover you up. Come about 12 feet and I’ll come 12 feet.”
Soon, the actor realized that the “king-sized bed is not good for a marriage.” “Get rid of that son of a b—-,” the father of three exclaimed. As such, the couple “got a queen size where we’re shoulder to shoulder.” He said how the bed is “good for your marriage.” The actor emphasised how this arrangement leaves “no room” for kids. McConaughey first met Camila Alves in 2006 and got engaged in December 2011. The couple tied the knot on June 9, 2012, in a private ceremony in Austin.
