It took Aaron Glenn three games before he finally dredged up the phrase that’s plagued every Jets coach since Weeb Ewbank. It really doesn’t matter that he referenced it to refute its very existence: most of his predecessors tried that ploy, too.
And every one of those coaches — every one — has ultimately tasted its truthfulness.
They all, sooner or later, succumb to it.
“Everyone always says, ‘Same Old Jets,’” Glenn said with the residue of this heart-strafing 29-27 loss to the Buccaneers still fresh and foul. “They’re not the Same Old Jets.”
