The intensity of the moment is palpable in the tone of the 65-year-old’s voice as he tries to remain calm and keep himself and the other customers safe.

At the end of the video, the camera loses sight of what’s happening, but Clarkin can be heard screaming, ‘Get the f**k away from me,’ before telling everyone to get in their cars.

‘I went to the store to get some cleaning supplies, and there was a bear in the store,’ Clarkin told the New York Times.

‘Getting the bear out of the store seemed like the thing to do.’

Restaurant owner Aaron Glading told the outlet he took his dog to the vet following the attack.

‘The bear tackled my dog, but he didn’t even bite my dog — no scratch marks, nothing,’ he said.

Police officers arrived on the scene soon after and found the bear in the parking lot.
