No illnesses have been reported due to the possible contamination yet.
Listeria can cause a wide range of symptoms, which may include muscle aches, nausea, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. These symptoms often last between one and three days, according to the FDA.
However, more severe infections can cause convulsions, a stiff neck, confusion, and loss of balance.
It is particularly dangerous for young children, the elderly, those with a weakened immune system, and pregnant women.
For pregnant women, Listeria can lead to miscarriages or stillbirths.
Listeria is the third-most common food-related illness death in the US, after Salmonella and Toxoplasma gondii.
About 260 people die annually from the infection, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates.

In 32 states across the US, approximately 3,314.7 pounds of the product were sent to Costco warehouses
