Eagles veteran right tackle Lane Johnson was sidelined in the first quarter on the team’s Week 3 game against the Rams with a neck injury. The team announced he was questionable to return shortly after Jalen Hurts’ tush push into the end zone for the first points of the game.
Johnson is critical for the Eagles offensive line, but they turned to a pretty reliable and experienced Matt Pryor to step into that role. Hopefully he’ll be able to protect Jalen Hurts and they can give Johnson a bit of a break. He’s not someone the team wants out long term, especially against some of the top edge rushers in the league.
Despite his age, Johnson said that he felt better than ever heading into the 2025 season, and expected to have another year or two left before deciding to retire. He’s just the latest lineman to deal with an injury, as Cam Jurgens and Landon Dickerson have both dealt with a variety of issues the past few months.
