LOGAN — Health officials have confirmed the first known case of measles in Cache County this year.
The Bear River Health Department on Saturday said an unvaccinated individual in the county had contracted measles, and contact tracing is underway to notify anyone who may have been exposed.
The department said public exposure may have taken place at the Intermountain Health Budge Clinic, located at 1350 N. 500 East in Logan, on Sept. 15 between 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., as well as a Chick-fil-A location, at 40 S. Highway 165 in Providence on Sept. 11 between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m., where the infected person may have been.
Bear River health officials are asking anyone with symptoms of measles (which typically appear after seven to 14 days of exposure) to contact a health care provider immediately, especially those who are unvaccinated or believe they may have been exposed to a confirmed case.
