Taylor Swift’s Life of a Showgirl era is well and truly upon us. With the singer’s twelfth studio album a mere 13 days away, we are in the home stretch. And that means, fans are finally getting a few more glimpses of the fashion that this new era holds in store.
In a new video shared by Taylor Nation, the official account for Swift’s music, Swift rocked an edgy, street-style rendition of the glitzy showgirl-inspired fashion we’ve already seen for her upcoming album. While sitting in a (director’s!) chair on a set, Swift wore the Reformation Cashmere Short Sleeve Crew in a deep orange-red shade—because orange is the color of the era, naturally. She paired the tight, soft top with a contrasting black leather miniskirt by Versace to add a little edge to the look. She finished things off with Ralph Lauren socks and Malone Souliers’ Chunky Sole Lace up Shoes.

She added a few gold touches to the look with a black leather watch by Versace along with a meaningful pendant necklace—the Initials and Numbers Diamond Initial Pendant by Foundrae, to be precise. Look closely, and you’ll see that her pendant is the letter ‘T’. Is it just me or does it kind of look like two T’s—you know, like Taylor and Travis? After all, it wouldn’t be the first time Swift has nodded to her fiancé with her jewelry—just take her ‘T’ garter from the Grammys that she later repurposed as a necklace. Then there was the time she wore a diamond necklace with Kelce’s jersey number ’87’ on the pendant. She’s also been spotted in another Foundrae pendant—a heart—that apparently nods to Kelce. And, who could forget, her ‘TNT’ bracelet referring to her nickname for ‘Taylor n’ Travis.’

Swift completed her look with an unusual twisted updo hairstyle, while her signature bangs were styled in textured curls. As for her nails, she rocked a metallic teal manicure in a nod to the other main color of her Life of a Showgirl era.
In the video, Swift opened up about her photoshoot for the cover art of her album. Each CD comes with photo cards, while each vinyl comes with its own poem, she shared. “They’ve got, like, more images than we ever planned to put in there,” she said. “We chose this really high gloss finish which I’ve never done before and I think it looks so cool. You know, we wanted this album to feel really luxurious and kind of as a nod to the luxury that a showgirl puts on when she’s on stage, meanwhile in the quick change room she’s like…” she cut herself off and faked gasping for air, before laughing to add, “Maybe that’s just me.”
This video comes after Taylor Nation shared another behind-the-scenes video in which Swift modeled the orange cardigan from her upcoming era, which she wore with tiny black hot pants. We are sensing a real sartorial theme here…
