Begin your path along the Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution Battle Pass with a new deck featuring Mega Lucario ex. Advance through the Battle Pass to unlock booster packs, Collector Crates, Trainer Points, Trade Credits, cosmetics, and 16 additional cards that can be swapped into your deck!

Halfway through the Battle Pass, you’ll unlock a new deck centered around Mega Gardevoir ex. You can also earn 16 more cards that can be used to bling out this deck by the end of the Battle Pass—try to collect them all!

Mega Lucario ex has two attacks that don’t require much Energy to use. Even better, its first attack, Aura Jab, attaches discarded Basic Fighting Energy cards to your Benched Pokémon, ensuring your entire squad has the power it needs to execute this deck’s strategies. In addition, Hariyama’s Ability disrupts your opponent’s plans, while Solrock and Lunatone give you more options for drawing cards and attacking.

Start off by attacking with Mega Lucario ex’s Aura Jab, which does 130 damage and accelerates Energy from your discard pile to your Benched Pokémon. Once your Bench is ready to rumble, attach one more Fighting Energy to use Mega Brave for a huge 270 damage. While your attacking Mega Lucario ex won’t be able to use Mega Brave again during your next turn, it can pivot back to Aura Jab. Alternatively, you can remove Mega Brave’s effect by retreating Mega Lucario ex and then playing Switch to bring it back to the Active Spot to attack again.

Mega Lucario ex’s attacks already pack a wallop, but you can take that damage to the next level with the help of some Trainer cards. A new Item card, Premium Power Pro, boosts your Active Fighting Pokémon’s attack damage by 30—and it stacks, so you can play multiple copies in a single turn. Maximum Belt, an ACE SPEC card, can add 50 damage to attacks used against opposing Active Pokémon ex. And finally, if you have the Gravity Mountain Stadium card in play, all Stage 2 Pokémon will have 30 less HP, making them easier to Knock Out.

For support, bring in Hariyama—which has an Ability that lets you drag one of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon into the Active Spot—as well as the celestial pair of Solrock and Lunatone. Solrock’s Cosmic Beam attack can do 70 damage for a single Energy, ignoring Weakness and Resistance—but the attack works only if Lunatone is in play. On the other hand, Lunatone’s Lunar Cycle Ability can put more cards into your hand—but only if Solrock is in play. Try to have both Solrock and Lunatone in play at all times so you have access to these useful effects!

Once you’re done training with Mega Lucario ex, you’ll earn another deck halfway through the Battle Pass, featuring Mega Gardevoir ex and overflowing with power.

Mega Gardevoir ex takes center stage with its Overflowing Wishes attack, which uplifts each of your Benched Pokémon with a Basic Psychic Energy card from your deck. The following turn, you can pivot into a ferocious melody with Mega Symphonia, doing massive damage based on how many Psychic Energy you have in play (including Luminous Energy).

If you want to skip the opening act and jump straight to the finale, Gardevoir ex from the Scarlet & Violet expansion can further empower your Psychic Pokémon with its Psychic Embrace Ability, attaching Basic Psychic Energy from your discard pile to them. The new Mystery Garden Stadium card is a good way to get those Energy cards into the discard pile, letting you discard an Energy card to fill your hand until you have six total cards if your Bench is full.

Start by prioritizing getting at least 2 Ralts into play with cards like Buddy-Buddy Poffin or Nest Ball. Filling your Bench isn’t a concern, especially if you have Mystery Garden and a Basic Psychic Energy, as you can use the effect of Mystery Garden to draw until you have the same number of cards in hand as you have Psychic Pokémon in play, potentially drawing you six cards on its own.

Once you’re set up, you have two strategies you’ll aim for, depending on if you evolve into Mega Gardevoir ex or Gardevoir ex first.

  • Mega Gardevoir ex can attach Energy to each of your Benched Pokémon with Overflowing Wishes and then turn that Energy into its own might with Mega Symphonia.

  • Gardevoir ex’s Psychic Embrace Ability lets you attach any number of Basic Psychic Energy from your discard pile to your Psychic Pokémon, not only making it easy to use its Miracle Force attack but also empowering Basic Pokémon like Drifloon or Scream Tail who make use of the damage counters from Psychic Embrace.

Although these strategies may seem disparate, these two forms of Gardevoir synergize perfectly with each other. When Energy attached by Mega Gardevoir ex is sent to the discard pile via retreating, being Knocked Out, etc., it provides an easy source of fuel for Gardevoir ex’s Psychic Embrace, which boosts the damage of Mega Gardevoir ex’s Mega Symphonia. Hero’s Cape makes things even more intense, adding 100 extra HP to the Pokémon it’s attached to. Suiting up Mega Gardevoir ex with this ACE SPEC card will give you a 460-HP behemoth, letting it tank almost any attack!

Beyond the synergies listed above, Munkidori’s Adrena-Brain can move damage off your Pokémon to your opponent’s Pokémon. It will need a Darkness Energy attached to use this Ability, so save your Luminous Energy or Basic Darkness Energy for it, if you can. This can be a good way to turn the damage counters from Psychic Embrace into your own benefit, or allow you to heal your tanky Mega Gardevoir ex.

Finally, in the home stretch, you’ll unlock a plethora of booster packs, Trainer Points, Trade Credits, cosmetics, and Collector Crates.
