ASUS Goes All-In On The Tandem OLED TrueBlack Tech With Latest ROG Gaming Monitors: 540Hz “PG27AQWP-W” & 280Hz “XG27AQWMG”

A total of three new ROG OLED gaming monitors are being announced today by ASUS. These include two Tandem Trueblack WOLED designs and one standard WOLED design. Some of the main highlights of the monitors include:

  • With Tandem OLED technology, this beast delivers 15% higher peak brightness, 25% wider color volume, and 60% longer lifespan than previous-gen WOLEDs.
  • Native 540Hz refresh rate with dual mode flexibility: 1440p@540Hz or HD@720Hz
  • VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black with 99.5% DCI-P3 gamut for lifelike visuals
  • TrueBlack Glossy Film: Up to 38% less reflection with zero haze—so blacks stay black and text stays razor-sharp even in bright rooms.
  • ASUS OLED Care Pro with an advanced Neo Proximity Sensor helps safeguard your panel from burn-in and extends panel life without disrupting gameplay.
  • Full connectivity with DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20, HDMI 2.1, and a tripod socket for creators

Starting with the Tandem TrueBlack WOLED options, we have the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W and ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG. Both of these models are 27″ designs and come with Tandem WOLED technology, which offers a dual-layer design for higher brightness levels, better color gamut coverage, and higher endurance than standard OLED monitors. The Tandem WOLED panels also consume lower power, and ASUS ROG designs feature a TrueBlack glossy coating to minimize screen glare in brightly-lit rooms.

The ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W supports dual-mode technology, offering up to 540Hz refresh rates at 2K and 720Hz at 720p resolutions. The monitor also comes with DisplayPort 2.1a “UHBR20” (up to 80 Gbps bandwidth).

For the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG, ASUS offers a QHD resolution with a 280Hz refresh rate, 99.5% DCO-P3 gamut coverage, true 10-bit color, and a standard that is 30% smaller than the previous 27″ XG designs, offering users more space on their desks. ASUS has outfitted both monitors with their OLED Care Pro features to prevent screen burn-in, including a new advanced Neo Proximity Sensor, which darkens the screen when you step away from it.

Additionally, ASUS is also launching a standard WOLED offering with its ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2. The new design comes with a 27″ QHD WOLED panel with TrueBlack Glossy coating, a refresh rate of up to 240Hz, and a response time of 0.03ms. The display features 99% DCI-P3 gamut coverage, true 10-bit color, and also packs OLED Care Pro features. The standard size for this monitor has also been reduced by 30%.
