CORVALLIS — Saturday’s loss to California was a long way from the brand of football Oregon State sold in the preseason.

The Beavers were listless on offense and deeply flawed on defense, falling behind 14-0 early and never able to fully recover in a 34-15 loss. Many of the same flaws which led to last season’s 5-7 record showed up once again for coach Trent Bray.
