2026 Grammys: Justin Bieber, Tate McRae and all the Canadian nominees

Justin Bieber, Tate McRae, Drake and more Canadian musicians are among the nominees for the 2026 Grammy Awards.

Bieber earned four nods for his surprise comeback album Swag, including best pop vocal album and album of the year. This is Bieber’s fifth pop vocal album nod, putting him in a tie with Justin Timberlake for most nominations for a male in that category. His track Daisies is also up for best pop solo performance, and Yukon is up for best R&B performance.

Cirkut leads Canadian noms

Halifax producer Cirkut, a previous Grammy winner, nabbed seven nominations, the most of any Canadian artists this year. His nominations include producer of the year, non-classical, for tracks on Lady Gaga’s album Mayhem, Ed Sheeran’s Play and more.

He is also up for record of the year for both Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra and Bruno Mars and Rosé’s Apt, as well as album of the year for Mayhem and best dance pop recording for Abracadabra.

Tate McRae earns 1st nominations

Calgary pop star Tate McRae earned her first ever Grammy nomination for best dance pop recording for her track Just Keep Watching from the F1 soundtrack. The soundtrack is also nominated for best compilation soundtrack for visual media.

Previous nominees and winners earn nods

Vancouver’s Tobias Jesso Jr., who won the songwriter of the year Grammy in 2023, is nominated again for songwriter of the year, non-classical, for his work on Swag as well as tracks such as Olivia Dean’s Man I Need, Haim’s Relationships and more.

Victoria metal band Spiritbox is also up for best metal performance. The group was nominated in the same category in 2024 and 2025.

Audio engineer and mixer Serban Ghenea, who has won 23 Grammys, picked up six nominations including record of the year for his work on Sabrina Carpenter’s Manchild and Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra. The Montreal-based musician will also compete in the album of the year category for Man’s Best Friend as well as best dance pop recording for Abracadabra.

Drake returns, the Weeknd is shut out

Drake, who was last nominated at the 2024 Grammys, earned a nomination for best melodic rap performance with PartyNextDoor for their song Somebody Loves Me.

The Weeknd, who sided with Kendrick Lamar in his rap beef with Drake, did not receive any nominations despite ending his years-long Grammy boycott.

His most recent album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, was released in January within the eligibility parameters. Cirkut was nominated for his production work on the album.
