This is a great week to churn your roster and add players who we underrated in drafts and are seeing unexpectedly high usage.
Running Backs
DJ Giddens (RB, Ind) — Direct handcuff behind Jonathan Taylor. Is capable of sustaining high-volume weeks and has plus athletic ability. Put him in the high-end handcuff category.
Will Shipley (RB, Phi) — Monitor the rib injury. Shipley caught a screen pass early on in Thursday’s win over the Dallas Cowboys. He looks explosive athletically. If anything significant were to occur with Saquon Barkley, Shipley would be a massive waiver wire add.
NOTE: Tank Bigsby traded to Philadelphia, and the Eagles reportedly view him as a kick returner. Shipley is still worth rostering in 20 roster spot formats, but lower bids significantly.
Kenneth Gainwell (RB, Pit) — Gainwell looks like he could be a big part of this running back room. He recovered his own fumble early and the production was not great, but he did catch three passes and had seven rush attempts. This offense performed surprisingly well. Never forget that Arthur Smith coaxed high-end fantasy production from players like Cordarelle Patterson and Tyler Allgeier during his time in Atlanta.
