An unexpectedly quick turnaround should make for an interesting second day at the 2025 Tour Championship as the 30 best golfers on the PGA Tour this year compete for the season-long FedEx Cup crown. Inclement weather expected later Friday pushed Round 2 up three hours, and while low scores should be plentiful once again, there’s no telling how the wind and eventual rain may impact the field.
Russell Henley matched a career-low with a 61 that put him two shots up on world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler through the first 18 holes, though Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas, Robert MacIntyre and Tommy Fleetwood are only one further behind. Rory McIlroy leads a foursome that’s five behind Henley, but there is plenty of time for any of those 11 golfers in the chasing pack to make a move before the evening hours approach.
