SEC women’s volleyball tournament history
The SEC women’s volleyball tournament is back for the first time in 20 years.
The tournament first took place in 1979 and was held at campus sites until 1988 when the event moved to neutral sites. From 1994-2005 the competition returned back to campus arenas before the event was paused until 2025.
Kentucky won the first ever title in 1979, when the Wildcats bested Tennessee, 3-1, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
However, Florida leads all programs with 12 tournament titles, all of which were earned with legendary head coach Mary Wise at the helm. The Gators won the last tournament in 2005 with a sweep over Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
