OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Scottie Scheffler has largely dominated the PGA Tour again this season, but he will have a decent hill to climb outside Baltimore if he’s going to win the 2025 BMW Championship and claim the second leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Sitting four shots behind 18-, 36- and 54-hole leader Robert MacEntyre entering Sunday’s final round, Scheffler will likely need help from the Scotsman coming back to the field if he’s going to pull off a rare come-from-behind victory.
MacIntyre stands in pole position having shot the lowest scores of the day cross the first two rounds while only dropping a shot to Scheffler on Moving Day. He has posted the lowest 54-hole score of his PGA Tour career while seeking his first win since the Scottish Open, 13 months ago. Ludvig Åberg has not put together an ideal season given the immense promise the 25-year-old showed last year, but he’s likely the only other true competitor Sunday at Caves Valley Golf Club sitting five behind MacIntyre.
